Evening of Reading: Heraclitus

A deep dive into the Greek of Heraclitus’ fragments, emphasizing the poetry, imagery, wordplay, and ambiguous syntax that earned him the moniker “The Obscure” (ho skoteinos) given to him by his earliest readers. We will read a curated selection of Heraclitus’ fragments in the original Greek. Readings will be punctuated by presentations from BISR faculty on key aspects of Heraclitus’ distinctive philosophical style.

Friday, July 26th, 6:30-9:30pm ET at BISR Central.
