Mark Firmani

Mark Firmani is a JD student at Yale Law School and a PhD candidate in English at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on private international law, legal theory, and the relationship between law and culture, with a particular interest in law and narrative. His dissertation examines how contemporary Iraqi fiction written in Arabic and published in English translation inhabits and expands U.S.-centric genre fiction labels to circulate in literary markets. His writing has been published in Middle Eastern Literatures and the Los Angeles Review of Books.
