This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, shared and protected when you (i) visit the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research (BISR) website (“Site”) or (ii) enroll in our course(s) and participate in our programs or (iii) become a BISR member or (iv) contact us through the Site.

We collect the following categories of personal information depending on how you interact with our Site as described above.
- Contact Information: your first and last name, company/organization name if applicable, postal or street address, email address and phone number(s)
- Other Identifying Information: your IP address, Site username, password, and other security information for authentication and access
- Commercial Information: courses and merchandise purchased, donations, and memberships
- Navigation Information: how you use our Site
Why We Collect Your Personal Information
Transactions: to facilitate prompt payment processing by Stripe to the correct point of contact and address;
Marketing: to provide additional information to you about our courses and activities;
Analytical: to enhance the user experience on our Site and for our courses and activities; and
Security: to implement data protection processes and methods.
We do not collect, store or have access to your financial data. Payments for our programs and merchandise are processed through Stripe.

Sources of Personal Information
We collect the personal information you directly provide us with when you contact us.
