BISR Code of Conduct and Content Usage Policy

We’re so glad you’ve registered for a course with Brooklyn Institute for Social Research! In order to ensure our classrooms remain a space of open discussion and inquiry, we ask all participants to treat others with respect and make space for all voices. BISR reserves the right to remove any student for disrespectful or disruptive behavior, at the instructor’s discretion, with no refunds given in this case. 

Students are encouraged to actively engage with and use materials provided in their classes—including lectures, notes, presentations, assignments, and other instructional content—for their own educational purposes. To help ensure the privacy of all participants and the integrity of our classrooms, BISR advises students of the following: 

1. No participant in a BISR program is allowed to:

• Record any portion of any course, event or other program, or scrape any data from BISR platforms for any purpose;
• Use our content to train, test, or enhance AI models, LLMs, or machine learning algorithms;
• Bypass, evade, or attempt to bypass or evade any measures we may use to prevent or restrict access to courses. 
• Share course materials with people who are not in the course without written permission of the instructor. 

2. Enforcement

We reserve the right to immediately block access, terminate accounts, and seek legal remedies—including injunctive relief and damages—against any person or entity found in violation of these terms.
